September 27th, 2018

With business roots originating back to 1926, the Simon brand has flourished from being able to recognise and deliver to the exact needs of its customers. Today, more than 90 years on, the Simon family continues to be the backbone of Simon National Carriers - one of Australia’s leading national freight and warehousing providers.

Following immense success in the transport industry over several decades, the early 2000’s saw Simon introduce a warehousing component to the business. The evolution of Simon has been driven organically by its customers, offering clients a comprehensive end-to-end solution. As their customers have continued to change, grow and evolve, so have they. From container pickup at the wharf, to container unpack, storage, pick, pack and delivery – Simon can do it all. The customers benefit – one service provider to deal with!

Managing Director, David Simon notes - “We started as a family business and we still are a family business. In a world that is moving and changing at rapid speed, we’re not only about keeping up, but making things easier for our customers. Above all else, we’re about being fair and to me, that’s one of the fundamentals that have driven long term loyalty with a large portion of our customer base.”

The Simon Warehousing division has been operating for over 15 years and now offers in excess of 115,000 sqm of covered warehousing capacity in capital cities right across Australia, plus strategically selected rural locations. Each of the 8 branches provide multi user warehousing facilities in a shared transport hub providing synergies nationally. The service provides a low-cost outsourced alternative to businesses, with minimised risk and added value.

Clients have complete control and web-based access via a Warehousing Management System (WMS) developed internally by Simon that uses smart technology to integrate with their in-house inventory system. This system enables Simon to adapt to the needs of various customers according to the nature of their stock, their requirements for delivery-time and the seasonality of their industry demand.

Simon Warehousing solutions can cater for a variety of solutions ranging from standard carton and pallet solutions through to escalators, elevators, agriculture equipment and engines. They invite businesses to present a challenge and allow the Simon team to provide them an economical and logistical solution. There is no opportunity too small.
