Simon National Carriers

How We Get It Done

How we do it matters just as much as what we do. With in-house technology, flexible systems, a diverse range of fleet and material handling equipment and most importantly a team of people who take real ownership, we’ve built a logistics model that’s made to handle complexity. From high-value freight to hard-to-handle cargo, every step is supported by live tracking, tailored systems and our national footprint—backed by a culture that puts integrity, care, and long-term partnerships first. It’s not just logistics… It’s The Simon Way.

We Handle What Others Won’t

Simon National Carriers is built to take on the jobs that others turn away from. We don’t just do standard pallets and crates; it’s also about transporting awkward and high-value products such as large escalators, fragile HVAC systems, or oversized agricultural machinery.  We deliver with accuracy and care. Our fleet is equipped with specialised drop decks, open and curtain-sided trailers, rail flat racks, and customised loading solutions. This isn’t just a capability—it’s a mindset. We plan ahead, assess risk, and execute with confidence. If it’s sensitive, complex, or project-critical, Simon is the team you want.

A True National Network

With more than 160,000m² of undercover storage and eight major sites across Australia—including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin, and Townsville—Simon offers seamless logistics coverage from coast to desert to coast. This nationwide footprint means your freight is never far from where it needs to go. Our ability to combine warehousing, transport, rail, and container services under one roof means fewer handovers, fewer risks, and more control. From wharf pickup to final mile—we keep it simple, connected, and consistent.

Partnerships, Not Transactions

What truly sets Simon apart is our commitment to long-term thinking. We’re trusted by leaders across industries like agriculture, manufacturing, construction, and energy—not just for what we deliver, but how we deliver it. We work closely with our clients’ teams to solve problems, collaborate on evolving improvement, integrate systems, and build relationships over time. Our customers’ tenure is forged on clear communication, proactive service, and mutual respect. It’s not just about moving freight—it’s about growing together.

Integrated Transport & Warehouse Management

Our in-house Freight Management System (FMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS), In-Vehicle Management System (IVMS), and Simon App are fully integrated, built specifically to handle the complexity of high-value and hard-to-handle freight. These tools provide real-time data from booking through to delivery and storage, all in one connected platform.

Tailored Digital Integration

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. Simon’s in-house digital systems offer full EDI, API, and custom file integrations with your systems—whether it’s a basic stock feed or a full supply chain dashboard. This flexibility ensures milestone tracking, inventory reporting, and documentation available how and when you need it.

Live Tracking & Client Portals

Clients can access a secure online desktop and mobile-optimised portal to track freight status, view inventory in real time, download PODs, and monitor KPIs. For sectors like mining and defence, this level of visibility is essential to meeting their internal compliance and reporting standards.

Real-Time Freight & Driver Monitoring

With IVMS in every truck, we monitor driver behaviour, fatigue, speed, rest breaks, and braking events. This ensures compliance with fatigue laws, supports safe delivery, and protects high-value freight across long-haul and metro routes whilst reducing carbon emissions.

Automation with a Human Touch

While our systems automate the logistics process, our people remain central to its success. Automated booking confirmations, milestone alerts, and exception notifications are all backed by real humans watching the data and acting when needed—no bots, no call centres.

In-House Development & Continuous Improvement

Simon doesn’t outsource its core systems. Our internal IT team works directly with operations and clients to evolve our digital tools, ensuring they stay relevant, user-friendly, and effective. Enhancements are driven by real feedback and changing client needs—not vendor timelines.

Technology That Connects Continents

At Simon, we benefit from Senko’s world-class investment in mechanisation, warehouse automation, and IT systems development. And this helps us leverage international expertise and implementation, including access to global network infrastructure.

The Simon Way Culture

We live and breathe The Simon Way—a commitment to personal responsibility, empathy, and doing what’s right. From the warehouse floor to the management office, our people take ownership of outcomes and treat your freight like it’s their own.

Specialist Training & Development

We train for more than compliance. Every staff member is equipped to handle high-value, oversized, or specialised cargo. Tailored induction, OH&S training, forklift and load restraint accreditation, and ongoing upskilling are baseline training requirements. Our linehaul drivers also undergo additional in-house induction training to exceed the national safety standard.

Real People, Real Relationships

Clients don’t deal with call centres—they speak directly with experienced logistics coordinators and account managers who know their freight. Our teams build long-term relationships and proactively solve problems before they arise.

We strive in long-term relationships through values aligned staff, clients, and suppliers. This has been the key to our long-term growth. Our values of respect, integrity, empathy, family, and the pursuit of excellence form the foundation of our culture and guide every interaction and every decision we make.

Our History is our Future

Today, with major warehouse and freight hubs across Brisbane, Townsville, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Darwin, and Perth, Simon National Carriers remains committed to providing smart, safe, and simple solutions for clients with cargo that is high-value and hard to handle. And while we’ve grown in size and capability, we’ve never grown away from the values that made us who we are. We are large enough to have scale, small enough to care!

Global Reach, Local Strength

These days, Simon National Carriers carries the support of the Senko Group as a major shareholder. Senko Group is a global logistics leader with over 100 years of history, 188 companies, and operations across logistics, manufacturing, commerce, and community support. Together with Senko, we champion a values-driven approach—built on safety, respect, and long-term partnerships. Senko’s influence enhances our ability to deliver specialised solutions in hard-to-handle freight sectors, while still operating with the heart of a family business. Our collaboration brings the best of both worlds: global vision with Australian know-how.

We empower every team member to make decisions with the customer at the centre, fostering a workplace built on fairness, respect, and ongoing development.

People First, Always

Behind the trucks and sheds are a team of real people who make it all possible. At Simon National Carriers, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re more than just a national network—we’re a community built on respect, empathy, integrity, and family values. We are passionate about investing in the growth of our people. With that, everyone wins!

Growing Careers, Not Just Filling Roles

With many success stories amongst our 2,540 years of combined service, we’re proud to have supported the growth of a lot of careers. There is no secret, we invest in our people, their training and development, and continue to adapt and evolve the effectiveness of our programs. We create opportunities for our team to grow with us—not just work for us.

We are proud to boast that more than 25% of staff have greater than 10 years of tenure.

A Culture You Can Feel

Working at Simon National Carriers means being part of a workplace where safety matters in many forms. We walk the talk and put in significant effort to continuously upskill our ambassadors that evolve the business. It’s a culture you can feel the moment you walk through our doors—and one we’re proud to carry across every part of our national network.

Staying Ahead in a Changing World

Productivity has always been part of our DNA. From a speed-limited linehaul fleet, through to truck selection, including their specifications, plus driver standard training, efficiency and productivity are a pivotal component of our decision-making.

We remain committed to the latest research and continue to evolve with goals of further reducing our environmental impact. For us, it’s not just about moving freight—it’s about moving forward responsibly.

Driving Forward with Smarter, Greener Trucks

At Simon National Carriers, we’ve chosen to invest in high-performance European trucks known for their fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and advanced safety features. These trucks allow us to reduce our carbon footprint while maintaining the power and reliability needed for the long haul. Their cutting-edge technology not only improves fuel economy but also supports smoother driving, better load handling, and reduced maintenance downtime—helping us deliver smarter, greener, and a more reliable service every day.

90km/h Speed Limited Linehaul Fleet

Our linehaul fleet is speed-limited to 90km/h. There is a fuel efficiency gain of up to 10% and a significant increase to the driver’s ability to correct steering at this speed, in turn improving safety and collision avoidance. We’ve had this embedded into our linehaul fleet for decades.

Industry Leadership in Safety

CEO David Simon is more than a business leader—he’s a safety advocate. As an active contributor to the National Road Safety Partnership Program and other key initiatives, David works to influence better safety outcomes not only internally at Simon, but also across the industry as a whole.

David has been on the board of both the Queensland and Australian Trucking Associations since 2004 and Chaired the Australian Trucking Association from 2010 to 2014. David leads an organisation passionate about safety and road safety for all.

Safety First, Always

At Simon National Carriers, safety is not just a policy—it’s part of who we are. We go above and beyond. In addition to our speed-limited linehaul fleet putting our drivers and the public first, our vehicles are fitted with above-standard manufacturer safety packs, advanced driver monitoring systems that track speed, fatigue, harsh braking, and driving hours in real time.

We also operate the Guardian product by Seeing Machines, which is a genuine lifesaver. Internally, there is significant effort put into onboarding, refresher, and safety standard maintenance training.

With the profile of freight we handle, safety and process have always and will always remain an absolute priority!

A Culture of Safety

Boasting an in-depth QA manual for many decades, Safety is woven into every part of Simon National Carriers. These days, we are guided by a non-mandatory TruckSafe accreditation, which is the industry-leading CoR safety management system. In order to maintain TruckSafe accreditation, independent audits are required. We don’t just meet industry standards—we aim to exceed them.

Incident prevention and near-miss reporting form part of the “normal operation” and our culture as we know it. We are not about getting the freight from A to B at all costs. We won’t do that if safety is compromised. For that reason, our internal focus on safety refresher training exceeds industry and curriculum standards.

We’ve had a speed limited linehaul fleet since our inception – a decision that remains in place today. It’s a deliberate choice to reduce emissions, save fuel (up to 10%) and most importantly, provide an environment for drivers to operate with lower fatigue and at a safer speed.
