Simon National Carriers

Moving What Others Can’t

At Simon National Carriers, we provide a national 3PL domestic logistics solution tailored for high-value and hard-to-handle products. From wharf to warehouse, to storage, pick, despatch and delivery, our legacy has been built on custom logistics solutions in sectors that need a personal touch.

We’re not about just our clients, but understanding what is important for our clients’ client. And that’s how we’re different, we listen.

With over 160,000m² of warehouse space across every mainland capital city in Australia, plus strategically located regional sites, we also cover freight delivery right across our vast country. Large enough to have presence, small enough to still care.

Strategic National Coverage

We operate a truly national logistics network, with 9 facilities strategically positioned across capital and regional cities including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, and Townsville. Collectively, we offer more than 160,000m² of undercover storage, supported by expansive yard space, including a diverse material handling mix.

Each warehouse is designed for secure, scalable storage that suits a wide range of hard-to-handle goods. We offer multi-client and dedicated storage arrangements, enabling complete separation of brands or customisation of space depending on volume and needs.

Optimised Inventory Control

Optimised Inventory Control

Our in-house developed WMS provides a very simple user interface for our clients to manage their inventory. Our standard offering in our 3PL warehouses includes tracking from the moment goods are scanned in at the item-level. This includes real-time inventory updates.

We offer batch control, serialised tracking, cycle counting, stocktaking, and FIFO control. For our more technical setups, we are integrated with many variants of ERPs and provide very technical interactions, allowing significant efficiencies for our customers’ product sale to delivery process.

Overall, our warehousing success is evident in our incredible track record of inventory accuracy.

Scalable for Growth

Our warehousing solutions are designed to grow with you. You focus on your customers, keep us in the loop of what’s important to you, and we’ll adapt and guide to support you.

Whether you’re launching a new product line, expanding across regions, or navigating seasonal surges, we’ll look after all of the domestic logistics complexities, so you can focus on selling. We’re about making life easy for you.

We’re proud to have been a significant support function to the growth of many household brands that have helped shape Australia!

Genuine Multi-modal National Freight Network

With strategically positioned company infrastructure right across Australia, we have built a service position that provides the opportunity to be able to flex to client needs and deliver on our promise.

These assets include opportunities to utilise less than truckload, full truckload, specialised transport, rail, and ocean movements in order to optimise what will be the most efficient and effective mode for our clients.

Rail

Broad Fleet Mix

In order of being able to adapt and flex to client needs within our core “high value, hard to handle” markets served, we boast a diverse fleet mix.

This includes more than 230 varying trailer combinations, including open tops, drop decks, ramp trailers, specialised trailers, tautliners, mezzanine trailers, and a host of differing rigid trucks for local running. We also have one of the larger fleets of TransiFlat open deck rail containers of any fleet in Australia, which support the core of markets we service efficiently.

Smart Logistics, Delivered

With the ability to integrate our Freight Management System (FMS) to clients’ ERPs, clients have the choice of as logically complex an integration setup as required through to our user-friendly web-based Portal for all necessary functionality that assists with freight tasks.

Whether it be booking freight collection pickups, creating picks from our own warehouses, and the milestone notifications thereafter, all the way through to delivery, we will keep you updated, including geo-fenced PODs.

Our digital platform supports automated notifications, status updates, and access to update delivery requirements. We strive to reduce the administration load within our customers and provide confidence to your team to be able to focus on your business and not the freight task.

We are passionate about being a logistics partner that is a genuine extension of your brand!

Handling the Unhandleable – The Simon Way

We thrive where others hesitate. High-value, hard-to-handle freight isn’t just part of our business—it’s where we excel.

With custom-built processes and systems, and decades of experience moving oversized, awkward, and fragile cargo, we approach every movement with a process-driven approach. It’s not just about getting it there—it’s about getting it there safely, securely, and without compromise. That’s the Simon Way.

Specialised Handling Equipment

Our warehouses and transport depots are equipped with specialised material handling equipment, including clamps, jibs, and heavy-lifting gear. These allow us to manage bulky, fragile, or irregular freight types that standard setups cannot safely handle or move.

Items like mobile plant and machinery equipment, industrial compressors, generators, and engines, escalators, and industrial HVAC units have been part of our handling DNA for many decades. We have 2,540 current combined years of experience handling these products.

Expertise Across Industries

Simon National Carriers supports key industries that help build our country. We have a strong connection to the construction sector, agriculture, energy, and defence sectors. If it’s awkward and a high-value product within these sectors, there is a strong chance we are going to be able to provide significant value to you while completing tasks compliantly and alongside an industry-leading safety reputation.

Clients rely on our understanding of specialised industry needs. Our teams, where relevant, liaise closely with project managers, engineers, and manufacturers to design logistics plans that work in sync with production timelines and installation requirements.

Trained Professionals on Every Job

Every member of our operations team undergoes thorough onboarding and regular training in compliance, load restraint, OH&S, and specialised freight handling.

We don’t outsource safety—we build it into our culture. This commitment to people ensures that freight is handled not just efficiently, but thoughtfully. We invest in training not only for compliance, but to give customers peace of mind that their freight is in capable hands every step of the way.

Trusted by Industry Leaders

From tech to transport, companies with high-value freight rely on Simon to get it right.

This trust is earned through clear scope setting, realistic commitments, open communication channels with real people, consistency of service, and a passion for continuous improvement and evolution.

Precision Logistics for Business-Critical Freight

High-value freight isn’t just about cost—it often represents critical business operations, while maintaining strict adherence to compliance obligations.

That’s why Simon’s logistics planning goes beyond the truck and warehouse. We map delivery timelines, manage staging requirements, and coordinate site-specific protocols to ensure high-value cargo arrives exactly when and how it’s needed.

Whether we’re supporting a just-in-time installation at a data centre, coordinating weekend delivery of commercial HVAC systems, or moving high-value generators in response to a natural disaster, we act as an extension of your team—ensuring your cargo arrives not only safely, but with purpose and precision.

Customised End-to-End Logistics

Simon National Carriers offers complete logistics solutions tailored to individual business needs—from wharf cartage and container unpack to pick, pack, and delivery. We don’t offer one-size-fits-all—we create flexible frameworks that match your freight, your flow, and your customer commitments.

This includes value-added services such as light assembly, light manufacturing, and reworks staging for project preparation deliveries. Our customers benefit from a simplified vendor management and a more efficient supply chain overall.

Flexible Infrastructure

With over 160,000m² of warehousing infrastructure across Australia and a fleet of over 150 prime movers and 230 trailers of differing configurations, we’re built for adaptability. We support seasonal peaks, project surges, and storage overflow with ease, without compromising service quality.

Each warehouse is configured for versatility—supporting both block stack and racked storage—and is equipped with tailored material handling equipment to suit all types of freight profiles.

Tailored Equipment & Handling

Every project has unique handling requirements. That’s why Simon provides access to a custom-configured national fleet, including drop decks, extendables, open trailers, and heavy-lift gear for complex freight.

We are experienced in managing high-value and difficult-to-handle loads using advanced, custom-designed load restraint techniques and purpose-built trailer setups—always with a focus on safety, damage prevention, and productivity.

Special Projects Logistics

Our Special Projects division specialises in planning, budgeting, and coordinating delivery to significant national infrastructure projects. These tasks require expert planning to deliver oversized, heavy, fragile, or complex cargo.

Generally, these jobs can entail thousands of loads into high-risk locations that entail strict compliance and site access requirements.

Our team provides tailored solutions including route planning, pilot vehicles, specialised trailers, and load restraint techniques—ensuring project commitments are met safely and efficiently, no matter the size or shape.

With many success stories amongst our 2,540 years of combined service, we’re proud to have supported the growth of a lot of careers. There is no secret, we invest in our people, their training and development, and continue to adapt and evolve the effectiveness of our programs. We create opportunities for our team to grow with us—not just work for us.

We are proud to boast that more than 25% of staff have greater than 10 years of tenure.

A Culture You Can Feel

Working at Simon National Carriers means being part of a workplace where safety matters in many forms. We walk the talk and put in significant effort to continuously upskill our ambassadors that evolve the business. It’s a culture you can feel the moment you walk through our doors—and one we’re proud to carry across every part of our national network.

Staying Ahead in a Changing World

Productivity has always been part of our DNA. From a speed-limited linehaul fleet, through to truck selection, including their specifications, plus driver standard training, efficiency and productivity are a pivotal component of our decision-making.

We remain committed to the latest research and continue to evolve with goals of further reducing our environmental impact. For us, it’s not just about moving freight—it’s about moving forward responsibly.

Driving Forward with Smarter, Greener Trucks

At Simon National Carriers, we’ve chosen to invest in high-performance European trucks known for their fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and advanced safety features. These trucks allow us to reduce our carbon footprint while maintaining the power and reliability needed for the long haul. Their cutting-edge technology not only improves fuel economy but also supports smoother driving, better load handling, and reduced maintenance downtime—helping us deliver smarter, greener, and a more reliable service every day.

90km/h Speed Limited Linehaul Fleet

Our linehaul fleet is speed-limited to 90km/h. There is a fuel efficiency gain of up to 10% and a significant increase to the driver’s ability to correct steering at this speed, in turn improving safety and collision avoidance. We’ve had this embedded into our linehaul fleet for decades.

Industry Leadership in Safety

CEO David Simon is more than a business leader—he’s a safety advocate. As an active contributor to the National Road Safety Partnership Program and other key initiatives, David works to influence better safety outcomes not only internally at Simon, but also across the industry as a whole.

David has been on the board of both the Queensland and Australian Trucking Associations since 2004 and Chaired the Australian Trucking Association from 2010 to 2014. David leads an organisation passionate about safety and road safety for all.

Safety First, Always

At Simon National Carriers, safety is not just a policy—it’s part of who we are. We go above and beyond. In addition to our speed-limited linehaul fleet putting our drivers and the public first, our vehicles are fitted with above-standard manufacturer safety packs, advanced driver monitoring systems that track speed, fatigue, harsh braking, and driving hours in real time.

We also operate the Guardian product by Seeing Machines, which is a genuine lifesaver. Internally, there is significant effort put into onboarding, refresher, and safety standard maintenance training.

With the profile of freight we handle, safety and process have always and will always remain an absolute priority!

A Culture of Safety

Boasting an in-depth QA manual for many decades, Safety is woven into every part of Simon National Carriers. These days, we are guided by a non-mandatory TruckSafe accreditation, which is the industry-leading CoR safety management system. In order to maintain TruckSafe accreditation, independent audits are required. We don’t just meet industry standards—we aim to exceed them.

Incident prevention and near-miss reporting form part of the “normal operation” and our culture as we know it. We are not about getting the freight from A to B at all costs. We won’t do that if safety is compromised. For that reason, our internal focus on safety refresher training exceeds industry and curriculum standards.
