At the heart of our operations is a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service. Our culture is founded on our core values – Respect, Empathy, Pursuit of Excellence, Family, and Integrity.
We strive to be the best in the markets we serve!
Since the 1960s, Simon has grown to be one of the most iconic domestic freight and warehousing providers in Australia. Boasting a strong values-based culture, Simon aspires to be the best in the markets it serves through listening to what clients need.
“We started as a family business and we still very much operate it with a family business feel.” – David Simon, CEO
We strive in long-term relationships through values aligned staff, clients, and suppliers. This has been the key to our long-term growth. Our values of respect, integrity, empathy, family, and the pursuit of excellence form the foundation of our culture and guide every interaction and every decision we make.
Today, with major warehouse and freight hubs across Brisbane, Townsville, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Darwin, and Perth, Simon National Carriers remains committed to providing smart, safe, and simple solutions for clients with cargo that is high-value and hard to handle. And while we’ve grown in size and capability, we’ve never grown away from the values that made us who we are. We are large enough to have scale, small enough to care!
These days, Simon National Carriers carries the support of the Senko Group as a major shareholder. Senko Group is a global logistics leader with over 100 years of history, 188 companies, and operations across logistics, manufacturing, commerce, and community support. This international backing empowers Simon to deliver not only reliable domestic freight solutions but also the innovation and strength of a multinational network.
Together with Senko, we champion a values-driven approach—built on safety, respect, and long-term partnerships. Senko’s influence enhances our ability to deliver specialised solutions in hard-to-handle freight sectors, while still operating with the heart of a family business. Our collaboration brings the best of both worlds: global vision with Australian know-how.
Our success is grounded in what we call The Simon Way—a cultural mindset that champions personal responsibility, empathy, integrity, and above-the-line thinking. We empower every team member to make decisions with the customer at the centre, fostering a workplace built on fairness, respect, and ongoing development.
Behind the trucks and sheds are a team of real people who make it all possible. At Simon National Carriers, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re more than just a national network—we’re a community built on respect, empathy, integrity, and family values. We are passionate about investing in the growth of our people. With that, everyone wins!
With many success stories amongst our 2,540 years of combined service, we’re proud to have supported the growth of a lot of careers. There is no secret, we invest in our people, their training and development, and continue to adapt and evolve the effectiveness of our programs. We create opportunities for our team to grow with us—not just work for us.
We are proud to boast that more than 25% of staff have greater than 10 years of tenure.
Working at Simon National Carriers means being part of a workplace where safety matters in many forms. We walk the talk and put in significant effort to continuously upskill our ambassadors that evolve the business. It’s a culture you can feel the moment you walk through our doors—and one we’re proud to carry across every part of our national network.
Productivity has always been part of our DNA. From a speed-limited linehaul fleet, through to truck selection, including their specifications, plus driver standard training, efficiency and productivity are a pivotal component of our decision-making.
We remain committed to the latest research and continue to evolve with goals of further reducing our environmental impact. For us, it’s not just about moving freight—it’s about moving forward responsibly.
At Simon National Carriers, we’ve chosen to invest in high-performance European trucks known for their fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and advanced safety features. These trucks allow us to reduce our carbon footprint while maintaining the power and reliability needed for the long haul. Their cutting-edge technology not only improves fuel economy but also supports smoother driving, better load handling, and reduced maintenance downtime—helping us deliver smarter, greener, and a more reliable service every day.
Our linehaul fleet is speed-limited to 90km/h. There is a fuel efficiency gain of up to 10% and a significant increase to the driver’s ability to correct steering at this speed, in turn improving safety and collision avoidance. We’ve had this embedded into our linehaul fleet for decades.
CEO David Simon is more than a business leader—he’s a safety advocate. As an active contributor to the National Road Safety Partnership Program and other key initiatives, David works to influence better safety outcomes not only internally at Simon, but also across the industry as a whole.
David has been on the board of both the Queensland and Australian Trucking Associations since 2004 and Chaired the Australian Trucking Association from 2010 to 2014. David leads an organisation passionate about safety and road safety for all.
At Simon National Carriers, safety is not just a policy—it’s part of who we are. We go above and beyond. In addition to our speed-limited linehaul fleet putting our drivers and the public first, our vehicles are fitted with above-standard manufacturer safety packs, advanced driver monitoring systems that track speed, fatigue, harsh braking, and driving hours in real time.
We also operate the Guardian product by Seeing Machines, which is a genuine lifesaver. Internally, there is significant effort put into onboarding, refresher, and safety standard maintenance training.
With the profile of freight we handle, safety and process have always and will always remain an absolute priority!
Boasting an in-depth QA manual for many decades, Safety is woven into every part of Simon National Carriers. These days, we are guided by a non-mandatory TruckSafe accreditation, which is the industry-leading CoR safety management system. In order to maintain TruckSafe accreditation, independent audits are required. We don’t just meet industry standards—we aim to exceed them.
Incident prevention and near-miss reporting form part of the “normal operation” and our culture as we know it. We are not about getting the freight from A to B at all costs. We won’t do that if safety is compromised. For that reason, our internal focus on safety refresher training exceeds industry and curriculum standards.
Dating back to 1966, initially to haul timber up to Darwin to solve an industry problem, grew then to become a national Freight and Warehousing powerhouse.
The brand has always been about a premium service and it is one of the standouts still today!
As of today, we’re proud to share that our current permanent team brings together an incredible 2,448 years of combined service.
With a total of 330 staff members:
116 have been with us for 5 to 20 years

This level of loyalty and experience speaks volumes about the culture we’ve built and the value we place on our people.
With Prime Movers, the European manufacturers lead the industry in safety and efficiency technology. We have specifically been running Euro VI vehicles that have drastically reduced emissions of particulate matter (by half) and oxides of nitrogen (by nearly 80%) compared to previous standards well before they have become mandated as a minimum standard in Australia.
These trucks are fitted with advanced manufacturer and aftermarket safety packs. We’re serious about safety and sustainability!
Safety and Efficiency!
We’ve had a speed limited linehaul fleet since our inception – a decision that remains in place today. It’s a deliberate choice to reduce emissions, save fuel (up to 10%) and most importantly, provide an environment for drivers to operate with lower fatigue and at a safer speed.
